eBooks and Texts

The Internet Archive offers over 20,000,000 freely downloadable books and texts. There is also a collection of 2.3 million modern eBooks that may be borrowed by anyone with a free archive.org account. Borrow a book, download it in a range of formats, or read it online in the BookReader. The texts come from libraries, publishers and individual donors around the world, and many were digitized at one of the Internet Archive's scanning centers.

Browse by subject, language or year with the filters beside the results, or search inside the collection with the field above them. Texts in the public domain can be downloaded as PDF, EPUB and plain text; in-copyright books can be borrowed for an hour or for two weeks. Researchers who need the full text of many books at once can ask about bulk access.
